Elios Financial: Children of Our Heroes Scholarship 2020

Elios Financial Group is excited to launch this special Scholarship Program to support the educational efforts of children of first responders in the Greater Cleveland Area through its 2020 Children of Our Heroes College Scholarship Program. We will recognize and reward three exceptional graduating high school seniors who excelled during their high school career and demonstrate traits of leadership, a commitment to public service, and a desire to make an impact on their schools and communities.

Three (3) students will each be awarded a $1,000 college scholarship.

Eligibility and Requirements

  1. Each applicant must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the 2020 Children of Our Heroes College Scholarship:
    • Have a parent, grandparent or legal guardian who is or has been an active member of law enforcement, fire protection service, healthcare or EMT in the Greater Cleveland Area.
    • Graduating high school senior in the Greater Cleveland Area, from the class of 2020.
    • Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or better, based upon a 4.0 scale.
    • Acceptance by, or plans to attend, an accredited college/university on a full-time basis beginning fall 2020.
    • Submit a completed and signed application form online. All applications must be submitted online through EliosFinancial.com/Scholarships by August 31, 2020 and contain all the components together in PDF format. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  2. The Elios Financial Scholarship Committee will determine the awards.  The awards selection is at Elios Financial’s sole and complete discretion; Elios Financial reserves the right to make changes to the Scholarship Program at any time and all decisions will be final.
  3. Notification will be mailed to the scholarship recipients shortly after the Committee’s decision.
  4. Each award recipient will be required to submit a photo of themselves with their first responder parent/grandparent/legal guardian which may be used for public relations purposes. Signed permission must be obtained with the photo submission to be eligible for the award.
  5. This Scholarship is a one-time award and will be payable no later than December 31, 2020. Each recipient’s award check will be sent directly to the college/university of their choice.
