Jim is founder of Elios Financial Group, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Registered Principal of Private Client Services. As an independent financial advisor, Jim specializes in comprehensive financial planning and investment management.
Experience: He has more than 30 years experience in the Financial Services industry, including retail banking with National City Bank, Cleveland and as financial planner with Cleveland Financial Group/Lincoln Financial Advisors. Jim is a frequent public speaker on financial planning issues, the economy and financial markets. He has provided workshops for companies, government, non-profits and charity organizations including the Social Security Administration. He has provided financial planning advice and guidance to many employees of local companies, such as Lincoln Electric, AT&T, Fairview Hospital/Cleveland Clinic, Sherwin Williams, and Progressive. He has contributed as a past columnist for the Plain Dealer “Ask the Expert” feature column. Jim has made many local Cleveland media appearances including television on Action Channel 19 News and radio on The Lannigan Show 105.7 WMJI. He completed a due diligence trip to Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and China, where he gave a lecture to students at Zhejing University City College in Hangzhou, China.
Education: He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in marketing and finance. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 1991 from Baldwin Wallace College. He has also obtained the advanced financial designations, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) ® and Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) from The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He is securities registered through FINRA (www.finra.com) and holds Series 24, 7 and 63 registrations.
Personal: Jim resides in Avon Lake with his wife, Solveig, and their 3 children. He has lived in the area for over 40 years and is a graduate of North Olmsted High School.
